We're launching a new project across all our brands! We aim to link up with our stakeholders, small sponsorship partners and venue owners to run sports for kids free of charge.
Many children attend sports camps and sessions during the school holidays which they pay for, but there are hundreds of children in the city that just don't have that option. We would like to get these children along for sports sessions during the day and link in with local coaches, local police officers and provide a safe fun environment where they can experience many different sports and get some exercise. We'd also like to make sure they're fed by providing packed lunches for after their sessions. We set up many venues for leagues that are played in the evenings, so why not set them up earlier and get kids in to use the facilities? Seems like a good idea nd very easy for us to bolt on to our existing business.
About National Sports Leagues
National Sports Leagues organizes adult leagues across Scotland in various sports, supported by many national governing sports bodies. We do this through a number of brands that target each sport:
Summer Slam Hockey - in partnership with Scottish Hockey we run leagues in Edinburgh & Glasgow for Ladies, Mixed, U12 Mixed, U14 Mixed, U16 Mixed and performance teams
Summer Nights Netball - in partnership with Netball Scotland we run leagues in Edinburgh & Glasgow for Ladies and Mixed , as well as a performance league
Edinburgh Corporate 7s - leagues for adults for not only corporate but social teams as well. Edinburgh only.
We would like to create opportunities for social interactions that strengthen communities and provide exercise and a sense of safety. I The goal is to have one million kids across the country play for free and this a big step closer to that goal.”
