Welcome to Summer Slam Hockey! In partnership with Scottish Hockey we're delighted be bringing Summer Slam Hockey back to Glasgow this summer!! Fast paced exciting hockey leagues for all standards and ages - Ladies & U12s League starts 5th May, U14s & U16s league starts 6th May and Mixed starts 7th May! We'll finish at the end of July so you can all get into pre-season. With the hockey season finished and long sunny(!) evenings its a perfect chance for you to keep your fitness, skills and reactions up to speed in a friendly fun & competitive environment, and we have a number of options for you to do that - no matter what your playing standard is.
Rolling Subs - come on and off when you like, rotate your players and use your strategy to the best advantage
'Drop Down' Finals - all teams will play in a play off final

Summer Hockey Rules - Pt1 - General
- The main aim is for everyone, both teams, to have fun and some good banter
- Adult teams of which all players are a minimum of 14 years of age, Youth teams 12yrs - 16yrs only.
- Play safe at all times, we don't want any injuries
- Encourage others especially juniors, new players, returning players etc.
- Involve everyone in the game no matter what standard they are.
- Do not target weaker players in the opposition - this is not the spirit of the summer game.-
- Be happy to supplement the opposition if they are short of players.
- In return, the team receiving these additional players should treat them as one of your team and sub along with the rest of the team.
- Umpires can give fouls, send off players etc for not playing in the spirit of summer hockey and these "rules"
- Players should actively encourage these rules are played and adhered to during every game.
- The length of each half/game will be agreed at the start of the game if the game starts late
- Have FUN, have some banter and chill! Let’s leave the serious stuff to the outdoor/indoor leagues, not the summer pitches. :)
- Zulu starts are an optional extra if both teams want! (GK's or a nominated FEMALE (if Mixed) team member starts in goals and races to get to the centre and kick the ball to start game. The rest of each team is behind their own baseline until the ball is kicked.)
- Players must wear shin guards, mouth guards are optional but recommended
Summer Hockey Rules - Pt2 - Matches
- Playing Bibs, balls, spare shin guards etc will be provided if needed
- 6 players on the pitch at any one time. Squads of up to 10 are allowed with rolling subs
- Subs should come on and off from either behind their own goal line (middle pitch) or from the half way line
- Subs don't need to inform the umpire - teams manage it yourselves but player must be off the pitch before another comes on!
- No limit on number of substitutions that can be made
- Zulu starts are an optional extra if both teams want! (GK's or a nominated FEMALE (if Mixed) team member starts in goals and races to get to the centre and kick the ball to start game. The rest of each team is behind their own baseline until the ball is kicked.)
- 2pts for a win, 1pt for a draw, 0pts for a loss
- No hitting at goal unless there is a GK AND a clear path to goal
- Gk are not a necessary requirement
- No undercutting whatsoever - it’s not necessary in summer hockey.
- After each match there will be a compulsory running penalty shoot out. Winners get 1 bonus point
- Powerplay. Hooter will sound for a 5 minute powerplay where any goals scored count as double
- Powerplay can happen at any time during the match
- Powerplay hooter will sound again at the end of the five minutes
- No hitting at goal unless there is a GK AND a clear path to goal
- Gk are not a necessary requirement
- No undercutting whatsoever - it’s not necessary in summer hockey.
